I visited Food for Others in Fairfax, today. Food for Others is a non-profit organization in Fairfax, Virginia, helping people of Northern Virginia, in need of food. I met with Roxanne Rice, the Executive Director, several staff members and volunteers. I was humbled in seeing everyone focused and working hard(with smiles, too :), for those less fortunate, right here in our community.

Roxanne welcomed me and showed me around the whole operation and explained exciting events planned for the year. I was delighted to learn that they could use some photography to update their website and newsletter, allowing me to contribute in a small way.

We've had some strong thunderstorms pass through in the last week or so, and some of the fruit trees didn't fare so well. Walking through the garden, I noticed that only a few Japanese persimmons and pears remain. The peaches and plums seem healthy, though. I saw remnants of the squirrels getting their share, which is fine, as long as they leave some for me. Dustin didn't much care about the plants. I found him under the deck, doing what he does best...

It was a nice day for a hike and a photo shoot, and Great Falls Park was the perfect place for a shoot with Pearl.   A pretty girl—bright, happy, and playful !   Her personality fit right in the beautiful surrounds of the park. Pearl is a jewel :p   We climbed the rocks and were rewarded with a perfect backdrop of the falls.

A good friend, Rob, forwarded me some of Microsoft's project links which he..."has no connection with."(I got your back, Rob ;)

Wanna fly through our Milky Way Galaxy from one end to the other? Or visit neighboring galaxies? How about zooming in from a panorama of downtown Seattle to a bird sitting on a rooftop, in a 3.2 Giga pixel HD image?! (I know, some of you guys are getting real excited right now) :p Then move on over to the Piazza San Marco in Venice and experience the whole place in 3-D. Some cool photography! Check it out.

Another HOT day, another HOT shoot, another HOT girl, Svetlana. 97 degrees and HU~MID! This is certainly extreme weather. But, I will not complain because even Svetlana, doing all the work, kept her cool and allowed me to make some beautiful images of her. We walked along Fairfax Drive in Arlington and took some stunning pictures. You did a great job Lana! Thanks for bringing your beautiful smile with you today :)

Had a great couple of hours of shooting with Chelsea yesterday. The weather was hot and muggy! But, Chelsea was a great sport, so we got some beautiful shots and had a blast! 2008 graduate—Congratulations, Chelsea :)
